PUNCAK - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, 12 September 2024, the 323 Task Forces, especially the Gome Post led by First Lieutenant Galang, conducted routine security duty in the Yenggernok Village, Gome District. During the activity, the Soldiers welcomed a visit from local people complaining of pain.
Emphasizing the Soldiers' unwavering commitment, the Commander of the 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. This message was not just words but an immediate call to action, a reassurance of the Soldiers' steadfast commitment to the community. Therefore, the Soldiers took advantage of their routine security duty to help treat the people with injury.
During the treatment, the Soldiers took the chance to interact and communicate with the people. Mr Alun Waker and Mrs. Mina Alom, who were Yenggernok residents, visited the Post with injuries. Mr Alun complained of an injury on his leg due to an accident falling from his motorcycle. In response to the condition, the Medical Soldier immediately treated Mr Alun and handed in medicine to him to be consumed in the following days for his relief. After the treatment, Mr Alun expressed his gratitude, saying, 'Thank you, Commander 323. God bless.' This personal interaction is a testament to the strong bond between the sellers and the Task Forces, fostering a sense of warmth and camaraderie.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 323 Task Forces’ initiative to help with treatment first aid for Yenggernok resident. His words: 'The 323 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to help people with difficulties in supporting the acceleration of development in the Papua region.' This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development, instilling a sense of progress and hope about their potential to positively shape the region's future. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts. The community feels optimistic about the future of the local economy.
